John 1:41-51
41. Finding first his brother Simon, he said to him, "We have found the Messiah!" (which is translated as the Christ.)
42 He brought him to Jesus. And Jesus looking upon him, said, "You are Simon the son of Jonah; you will be called Cephas." (which is translated as Peter.)
43 On the following day, he wanted to go forth into Galilee, and he found Philip. And Jesus said to him:, "Follow me."
44 Now Philip was of Bethsaida, the city of Andrew and Peter.
45 Philip sought Nathanael, and said to him, "We have found he whom Moses wrote about in the law, and the prophets, Jesus the son of Joseph of Nazareth."
46 And Nathanael said to him, "Can any thing good come from Nazareth?" Philip said, "Come and see."
47 Jesus saw Nathanael coming to him, and said of him, "Behold an Israelite indeed, in whom there is no guile."
48 Nathanael said to him, "How do you know me?" Jesus answered, and said to him, "Before Philip called you, under the fig tree I saw you."
49 Nathanael answered him, and said, "Rabbi, you are the Son of God, you are the King of Israel."
50 Jesus answered, and said to him, "Because I told you, I saw you under the fig tree, you believe? Greater things than these you will see."
51. And he said to him, "Truly, truly I tell you, you will see the heavens open and the angels of God ascending and descending on the Son of man."
